Born John Devon Roland 'Jon' Pertwee and originally serving in the Royal Navy and Naval Intelligence Division during WW2, he became famous as the third incarnation of the Doctor in the legendary science-fiction TV series Doctor Who between 1970-1974. Towards the end of his life, he maintained a close association with Doctor Who by appearing at many fan conventions related to the series and giving interviews.

The Jon Stewart Show was a late night talk show hosted by comedian Jon Stewart. The program premiered on MTV in 1993 as a thirty-minute daily program. At the end of its first season, MTV's then-corporate sibling Paramount Television retooled the program, extended it to sixty minutes, and used it as a replacement for the cancelled Arsenio Hall Show for the 1994-95 television season. While it garnered high ratings on MTV, in fact becoming its second most popular show behind Beavis and Butt-Head, The Jon Stewart Show was not a success in syndication and was cancelled in 1995.

The Jon Dore Television Show is a mockumentary-style sitcom, based on an idea by Jon Dore and John Brunton. The show stars Canadian actor and comedian Jon Dore, of recent Canadian Idol co-host fame. The Comedy Network ordered 13 half hour episodes of the series, which premiered on October 17, 2007 at 10pm ET. The second season premiered on January 21, 2009. A third season was supposed to be premiered in 2010 until Dore confirmed the series' cancellation. The show is also currently being played on the Independent Film Channel in the United States.On June 2, 2011, during an interview, Dore made a mention of The Jon Dore Television Show Movie. A script has entered development.

On the 20th of March 1992, Jon Pertwee, veteran star of The Navy Lark, Dr Who and Worzel Gummidge, spoke candidly to Liam-Michael Rudden about his life in show-business. The in-depth interview covered his entire career, from his first-ever job to his hopes for the future. Seventy three years young at the time of filming, Jon allowed Archangel Media to tail him for what turned out to be a very energetic day in his life. They follow Jon as he arrives at his Edinburgh Hotel, attends a press call, enjoys a buffet lunch and meets with his fans at a signing session at a Virgin Megastore.
